Since the release of his debut single ‘Run’ this highly awarded filmmaker and sought-after guitarist to the stars (Kasey Chambers, Adam Brand, Lee Kernaghan, Beccy Cole, Adam Harvey, Adam Eckersley Band) has made the front of the stage his new home. The spotlights are finally revealing to fans and fellow artists across the country the talents that Duncan has been hiding for some time. Duncan’s sensational debut track ‘Run’ received great support on country radio and scored additions on Spotify’s ‘Fresh Country’ and ‘Country Chill’ playlists, as well as multiple Apple Music editorial playlists. With streams for ‘Run’ now totalling well over 200k, Duncan is set to back it up with his brand new single ‘Complicated’.

‘Complicated’ is an upbeat, dynamic vocal collaboration with powerful whaling vocals. The song discusses our way of life and how simple things can often become so complicated these days. “Things seemed a lot simpler when I was a young fella,” smiles Duncan. The track features the amazing vocalist and powerhouse drummer Lozz Benson (John Butler Trio, Kate Ceberano, The Wiggles) who was a Top 5 finalist The Voice in 2021.

“I’d almost finished writing the song but asked Lozz to help me finish the words to the 3rd verse,” recalls Duncan. “I never set out to write a duet or a vocal collaboration… but once I played and sang it through with Lozz in my studio there was no other way for the song to be delivered.”

Whilst recording the song at The Music Cellar with an all-star band handpicked by Duncan and his co-producers, Scott Bird and Rod McCormack, ‘Complicated’ was the last of Duncan’s songs to track. “We deliberately left Complicated the last song to record over the 2 days of tracking. We knew we wanted to finish with a bang, and it didn’t disappoint”

As the 7x Golden Guitar award winning director at The Filmery, Duncan is more than comfortable behind the camera. However, when it came time to shoot a music video for ‘Complicated’ he found himself in unfamiliar territory. “It was my first time front and centre on the other side of the camera lens. I was extremely nervous and anxious,” he confesses. “Thank God I was surrounded by my awesome filming family from The Filmery. What an amazing day it was!”

Fans of the dulcet-toned guitar slinger won’t have to wait long to hear the new single live, as he’s joining Adam Harvey and Beccy Cole on their national tour. Duncan is ecstatic to be joining his “old touring buddies” on their Great Country Songbook Volume 3 Tour which is now running right through till February 2023. “I’m lucky to opening the show and then sitting in for the night on guitar and vocals.”
